A Gdańsk Itinerary That Will Have You Singing 'Hold Me Closer, Tiny Gdańsker'

After traveling to Gdańsk, I quickly learned why Elton John was inspired to write this timeless classic.

In the lead-up to my nearly 3 months in Poland, Gdańsk was one of those cities that was thrust into my face 24/7 on various social media platforms. The vibrant, multicolor buildings and squares, gorgeous waterways with mouth-watering restaurants, and world-class museums with storied maritime heritage.

It seemed too good to be true.

So you can imagine I was a tad skeptical when my brother suggested that we incorporate it into our 9-day Poland travel itinerary

I can confidently say that Gdańsk lives up to the hype…and then some. The combination of Baltic and Slavic influence and culture, cooler temperatures, and hearty northern food (with more seafood than you can shake a stick at), had this Big Body in Polish heaven.

Here is a 3-day Gdańsk travel itinerary that served both my brother and me extremely well and allowed us to walk away from the city feeling as if we had a great handle on what it’s about.

Pale Ale Travel Note: I loved my time in Gdańsk so much that it was actually the first ‘Destination Spotlight’ I put out for this newsletter, which you can find here
